You are called upon to pay the cheque amount within 15 days of receiving this notice. If payment is not made in that time, the sender may proceed under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

A notice of this kind is generally sent within 30 days of receiving the bank’s return memo. This draft does not calculate that deadline and it is not a filed legal notice.
